main works

artec3 carries out projects through 3 departments: lighting design, lab and lights. We have arranged our works in the following categories to guide you on a transversal tour through the most relevant projects of artec3.

lighting design

artec3 lighting design is dedicated to developing high-quality architectural lighting projects through close, proactive relationships with the design teams and clients. Shaping light, we create innovative lighting designs that enhance the architecture and its contents, while achieving the program and sustainable goals. Take a look to our most relevant projects.

Our lights emerge from the experience developed in our lighting designs projects and the study of the function and emotion of the light interacting with space and people. artec3 Studio, by merging research, technology and taking care of details, has developed new concepts of light. Our designs are produced by recognized manufacturers and have been internationally awarded. Enjoy a selection of our luminaires designs and bespoke lights.

light art

The llight-art department has explored the most interactive, social, artistic and exciting aspects of the light as a channel to express intangible contents. This enables us to shape our perception and cognition when being part of experiences, interacting with artworks, or creating identities through light. The artec3 lab, in continuous artistic experimentation with light, has evolved to summalab. Find more about it.

Tunateca Balfegó

Barcelona, Spain 2017

Balfegó is a gastronomic space designed to spread the culture of Bluefin tuna. Its lighting concept seeks the immersion of the diner in an idyllic maritime environment. With three well-defined scenes, the rooms of a ship are simulated and highlighted by a central piece: the school of fish. It consists of warm spot LED's that illuminate a hundred-acrylic fish, that along with the light reflected in the blue curtains resembling a fishnet.

Each space of the restaurant, representing either water or ship, is designed for the user to enjoy the different visions and interact, suggestively, with their environment. Along with the interior designers and chefs, the goal was to create different immersion levels accompanied by a dim dynamic light that resembled the sun filtered by water, or the different tones of light on a boat, in order to enhance the gastronomic experience.

The DMX programming simulates a subtle dynamism that transports the user to an implied, relaxing and suggestive interaction with their environment to create a holistic gastronomic experience. One of its kind.
