Light and material, a certain enigma in itself

The Enigmatic system was developed to create the ambient lighting for the Enigma Restaurant in Barcelona, to adapt the light to different scenarios using white and colored lighting depending on the restaurant’s cuisine, and to achieve the effect of an enigmatic cloud of light.

Like a false ceiling, the system is used throughout the restaurant. It is made up of a grid of led lamps installed every 60cms and, below them, a translucent diffuser of wrinkled plastic fabric. The system was completed with a metal mesh defined by the architects, the Pritzker winner RCR.

The bespoke led lamp works as RGBW led matrix controlled by DMX and a white led matrix controlled by Dali. The control system combined with the light and the material generates an abstract atmosphere that transmits a certain enigma in itself.
