Four Seasons Tamarindo

A subtle and cozy lighthouse blends in with nature

The Four Seasons Tamarindo Hotel reclines on a hillside where the richness of the jungle meets the Pacific Ocean. It serves as a natural refuge for those seeking a deep connection with nature, to reclaim their own balance. Constructed using sustainable materials and principles of contemporary Mexican architecture, the design aims to integrate seamlessly into the landscape, merging with the jungle vegetation and the coastline to create a unique experience for guests.

The lighting concept follows this architectural intent to blend with the surroundings; during the day, the light fixtures are inconspicuous, embedded in walls or architectural elements to not disturb the harmony of wood and stone that compose the spaces.

The materiality in the outdoor areas is illuminated subtly and softly, always with indirect, bounced light, to stand as a reference in the landscape, like a subtle lighthouse guiding you without disrupting the nocturnal ecosystem.

The lighting control inside the rooms, designed with dimmable light scenes essential for good morning, evening, and relaxation, is conceived to ensure the guests’ well-being day and night, recharging them as they connect with the energy of the location.
