Preserving the past to illuminate the future
The rehabilitation to convert the historical building into a Conference Center was an architectural challenge since it was a protected building and all construction details had to be preserved.
All lighting typologies had to be carefully considered according to its location and the proposed light effect to meet the program strict requirements. Most lighting typologies had to be integrated. Hanging typologies were the most used since they allowed to reuse the restored connection points. A special case was the subsoil zone as there was no possibility of taking electricity more than the perimeter of the room. All the technology used was 3000ºK LEDs with different optics and powers, which were controlled by DALI.
