Redefining space through shadow and rhythm
The project resulted in a design process which conceives the lighting of the building as an “inconclusive” application. This was possible as the office areas would be built without partitions or false ceilings leaving unrendered surfaces until the arrival of tenants.
We could work with the density of the shadow in relation to depth and form. Contrast would generate quality in the spatial perception of the building: the luminaires would not only serve to define the spatial entity of lit areas during this stage of the building but were chosen to complement the architecture after tenants had moved in.
