Torico Square

A subtle identity tribute for Torico square

The lighting concept aims to enhance the perception of perspective and direction, given by the square and its built surrounding’s spatial configuration, without making too obvious the monument under which the plaza is named (“Torico”).

The pavement is treated as element of fluency, with luminescent inlays that might be white or red, in reference to the town’s flag. This fluid distribution over the whole square evokes old water tracks, finding the Torico fountain at its point of inflexion and, at the same time, is ordered to address the location of the ark and the water reservoir in the museum underneath.
